Storefront splits, milestone recoupment, creator payouts across six currencies, brand-deal income, prize-pool distribution — handled by people who know what a cert build is and what a CPM is. Fractional CFO and full-stack accounting for studios, publishers, creators, and esports organizations.
No long-term contract · Month-to-month after onboarding
Games income breaks every assumption built into standard small-business accounting — whether it arrives from a storefront, a sponsor, an ad network, or a prize pool. These are the four places it breaks worst.
Every platform pays on a different cadence, at a different split, in a different currency, with chargebacks clawed back weeks later — storefronts, ad revenue, subscriptions, tips, prize pools. We reconcile all of it to your GL every month so the number you report is the number you got.
Publisher advances, brand-deal deliverables, and org contracts all work the same way: someone owes you money once a condition is met. We track every condition, invoice on time, and produce reporting that doesn't get kicked back for the wrong cost categories.
Development cost stopped being a simple expense in 2022, and most studios are still getting it wrong. We track capitalization and maintain the amortization schedule, then hand your tax preparer a package they can actually work from — including the cost documentation an R&D credit study needs. We don't file returns. We make sure whoever does isn't guessing.
Games slip, sponsors churn, algorithms change, rosters turn over. The organizations that survive it modeled the bad quarter before it arrived. We keep a live runway model tied to your calendar, your contracts, and your headcount plan.
Read-only access to your platform dashboards, bank, payroll, and any publisher or sponsor agreements. No switching software. Usually done in a single 45-minute call.
We clean up the back catalog, rebuild the chart of accounts around titles, channels, or teams — whichever you actually have — and hand you a close checklist that holds up under scrutiny.
Monthly close landed by day 10, plus a runway readout and publisher pack you can forward to your board without editing it first.
Flat monthly, quoted after a 30-minute call — no hourly billing and no surprise invoice after a long week. And we start looking for savings on day one: the first thing we do is comb the back catalog for money already sitting on the table.
Early stage. Solo devs, small teams, and individual creators building their first real income.
Growth stage. Funded teams, established creators, and esports orgs with a real burn rate.
Portfolios, networks, and multi-team organizations running rev-share at scale.
No, and early is cheaper. Setting up title-level cost tracking and a §174 schedule before you have revenue takes days. Reconstructing two years of it after a publisher asks for diligence takes weeks and costs several times more. Most of our Indie tier is pre-revenue.
Yes — it's the same problem wearing different clothes. A studio reconciles seven storefronts; a creator reconciles ad revenue, memberships, tips, and four brand deals with different payment terms; an org reconciles prize money, sponsorship tranches, and player salaries across jurisdictions. Lumpy multi-source income in multiple currencies with contracts attached is the whole specialty. The §174 work is studio-specific; almost nothing else is.
It's the single most common thing we see, and it's a fixed-fee cleanup project quoted up front before any monthly work starts. We'll tell you the number after a one-hour look at your accounts. Nobody here is going to make you feel bad about it — you were busy doing the actual work.
Yes, on the Publisher tier. That includes tiered and recoupable splits, back-end participation, 1099/W-8BEN handling for international contributors, and a statement each recipient can actually read.
No. We're not a tax firm and we don't file returns. We keep the books, maintain the §174 and title-level cost records, and build the year-end package your tax preparer works from — which is where most of the cost and most of the mistakes actually live. If you don't already have a preparer who understands games, we'll introduce you to one and manage the handoff so you're not project-managing two firms.
Same split. R&D credit studies and state programs like Georgia and Louisiana are run by specialist firms; Canadian and UK credits by local ones. What we do is keep the underlying cost records clean and documented all year so the study is straightforward instead of archaeological — the part that gets skipped and then costs you the credit.
Each storefront is booked in its settlement currency and normalized to your functional currency at the payout date, with the realized gain or loss broken out separately. You see true platform performance instead of currency noise mixed into your title P&L.
No. We work in whatever you already have — QuickBooks, Xero, or NetSuite if you've outgrown them. If your setup genuinely can't support title-level tracking we'll say so, but that's a recommendation, not a condition.
A 30-minute call, no deck. We'll tell you what's broken, what it costs to fix, and whether you need us at all. Roughly a third of the people we talk to don't yet.
Grab whichever slot suits you. Thirty minutes, no deck, no obligation — and if it turns out you don't need us yet, we'll tell you that on the call.
